Energized Minds.

EMpowering the Next Generation.

Energized Minds is a nonprofit organization founded to put the tools, technology, and structured enrichment opportunities of an affluent suburb into the hands of children whose family income should not determine their future.

Inaugural cohort launches August 2026 · Limestone & Madison Counties, Alabama

Why this. Why now.

Alabama is making real progress — and leaving real gaps.

Alabama's fourth graders posted the largest math gain in the nation on the 2024 Nation's Report Card. That progress is worth celebrating. But proficiency tells the fuller story:

37%
of Alabama 4th graders are proficient in math (NAEP 2024)
28%
of Alabama 4th graders are proficient in reading (NAEP 2024)

By eighth grade the picture grows harder still, with Alabama ranking near the bottom of the nation in both math and reading. The students furthest behind are not behind because of a lack of ability or potential. They are behind because of a lack of access.

Energized Minds works to close that gap, one student at a time.

The Launchpad.

Every student we sponsor receives a complete enrichment package, delivered directly to them:

Eligibility

Who we serve.

The Launchpad serves K–12 students in underserved, rural, low-income, and military-affiliated communities across North Alabama. Families may qualify through any one of four pathways:

Our inaugural cohort gives priority to dependents of qualified disabled veterans. Full eligibility criteria and selection details are shared directly with families who express interest below — eligibility does not guarantee selection, and every selection is made through our documented, board-overseen process.
